intro to alpinism

This course is an ideal introduction to alpinism.  You will learn the essential techniques for safe travel on glaciers and alpine peaks, and discover wider climbing and mountaineering horizons.

The course starts in Leysin with the first two days on local peaks, which are excellent for training and acclimatisation.  The course then moves to a mountain hut in the higher peaks of the western Alps.  The exact venues and itinerary vary according to the weather and conditions at the time.
